Fyri Ammos (of Kalamos)

There are two beaches named Fyri Ammos on the island. The first and most famous is in the island’s southeast, near the village of Kalamos. It is a long beach with red sand and pebbles, in the past it has won the Golden Starfish award for its natural beauty and the purity of the water. Busy as it may be, you need to be careful on the road -especially towards the end- as parking is difficult. It’s worth it, however and the beach will definitely reward you. Since last year the beach has been organized with a canteen and umbrellas, quite an important addition as any other trace of “civilization” is several kilometers away!
